Is Target Marketing Ethical?

One of the basics of all marketing and advertising training is a teaching of “Maslow’s needs pyramid”. This has proved to be a very successful tactic for companies in marketing. In the hierarchy of the business food chain, sales and marketing should not be seen as rivals or equals, but counterparts. Service channels are needed to effect transactions with the consumers and these could be banks for credit card purchases and transportation companies such as UPS to deliver the products to homes and businesses.

Instead of bothering strangers, connect with your existing customers or people who have indicated interest in your services or products. Especially in the early days it’s easy to underestimate the time required for certain actions or miss some important actions all together.

Provide as much structure as possible within each marketing plan. Split each marketing method out in to its own MLM marketing plan. They can sit around and discuss all the latest marketing tactics and even try to put them in place, but in the end, it’s all for naught if they don’t develop a solid strategy and execution steps to make it work for their business.

All marketing and marketing communications should flow from this positioning, and it should be fully understood and embraced by all employees, sales reps, partners and management. While trying to conserve capital, many of these companies will attempt to combine their sales and marketing departments, essentially tasking their employees with two job descriptions, and that’s usually a bad move.

Planning for the year ahead is never an easy task. Other tactics that companies use to shape consumers needs and wants is to use celebrities or other famous people to sell their products. Marketers and salespeople work together to determine what consumers need and how to deliver it. Sales and marketing should motivate, inspire and feed one other.

Those email newsletters you receive after becoming a customer somewhere are not random – they have a purpose and are often tailored to things you’ve viewed or expressed interest in. A sales team simply doesn’t have the insights, time, or often the resources to execute these types of strategic campaigns.

Many in the business world, especially those who rely on sales and marketing for success, don’t actually have a concrete grasp on exactly what sales and marketing are. Pull together one overall plan that incorporates all of your MLM marketing plans. Marketing theory can lead to strong marketing strategies, but too often, we get stuck on the former.

Throughout history, chocolate has been marketed differently to different consumer types. Marketing channels are also used by companies to reach their consumers. As a result, decisions are often made without the consultation of the marketing strategy, and that means they are not likely to be in alignment with the strategy. Especially for small companies, one thing or another can come up that gets the business owner off track, and unfortunately, when that happens, marketing tends to move to the back burner.

Bottom line to this long winded explanation is this: making THE RIGHT TYPE OF CALL THE RIGHT WAY in conjunction with modern technology and other marketing tools can make a huge difference in your business. We as people like consistency and if a marketer provides consistent service in addition to great products and price then we will keep on going back for years.

Marketing to specific groups of consumers, or target marketing, is one of the most important concepts in marketing. Now, none of what I have said above gives companies a free license to do whatever they want, especially when it comes to my one, very absolute exception: Marketing to children and those who cannot be held accountable for their actions. With so much information available about companies and brands, it is truly the Age Of The Consumer and will be for a very long time.

Oftentimes salespeople have a broader focus, preferring to spend their days with appointments and meetings – activities that build relationships – rather than sitting behind a desk doing what a marketing department does best. Because it has never been more apparent that the relationship between sales and marketing is still just as misunderstood as ever, especially with advances in marketing technology.

These companies also make their companies seem fun and sometimes quirky to attract children to other products they may offer. This is all part of what a consumer’s expectations on a product are, if these perceived expectations are met time after time then they become a loyal customer to that particular company.

The problem, however, is that many companies, consultants, and marketers do a lot of “theory” and talking, without taking it beyond that. Coach has built a strong brand name for themselves by being unique in their style and service and this is primarily the reason that customers create a high demand for their products.

After seeing so many television commercials and advertisements both on the Internet and on newspapers I have concluded that some companies construct their ads to create a need in the consumer’s mind even if originally they were not interested in the product.

These companies also make their companies seem fun and sometimes quirky to attract children to other products they may offer. This is all part of what a consumer’s expectations on a product are, if these perceived expectations are met time after time then they become a loyal customer to that particular company.

This has also allowed the company to maintain an above average price for their products compared with their competitors with the knowledge that consumers would pay that higher price. These brands can mean several aspects of the company combined to form a perception in the consumer’s mind such as products, services, information and experiences.

Marketing has relied on four marketing skills and tools and they are the sales force, advertising, sales promotion and marketing research, they must also use brand building, customer relations, telemarketing and others to make their product selling become reality.

Many consumers who have stayed loyal to the same brand, dealership, or salon for years will say that they appreciate the personal attention they receive there. Unless time is dedicated to each and every week to working a marketing strategy, forward movement in business is highly unlikely.

No doubt if you are trying to progress on your journey to MLM success and you have been doing some training and some research then you will have discovered the importance of having a good MLM marketing plan in place. Most companies don’t spend enough time discovering who exactly their customers are to be able to draft a marketing strategy that will lead them to success. Your marketing strategy is your map. The ideal sales and marketing relationship is a symbiotic one. Instead, they read a lot of marketing theory and try a lot of different things.

It is not a marketing employee’s responsibility to follow up with a salesperson’s existing customer once the lead has been handed off, nor is it their responsibility to convert a lead to a sale, “close the deal,” or make sure the client remains a client for many years.

The marketing department creates awareness, builds engagement by creating information that will invite audience members to take action, and targets and tracks engagement by motivating audience members to provide contact information or initiate a free trial or consultation (converting them from a cold prospect to a known lead or potential buyer).

There is a constant interaction with the public in studying what is in vogue at the time and also what brands people want to be associated with. Successful marketing is really a 3-part process that involves following sound marketing theories, creating a detailed strategy, and executing that strategy.

Back in October 2015 we shared an article called “5 Ways Marketing Departments Help Salespeople Catch Butterflies.” Recently a tenfold article was shared with us, titled “What is the Meaning of Sales & Marketing and Their Advantages?” and, I have to say, it does a pretty awesome job of breaking down the differences, responsibilities, and links between sales and marketing roles.

Most companies do a lot of research before releasing an advertisement in getting a feel of what the consumers really desire. Sales departments rely on marketing; marketing departments and strategies exist to feed sales (notice I didn’t say “make” sales). Without an in-house marketing team that is skilled and dedicated to marketing planning and execution, it is understandably difficult.

The Key To Make Your Marketing Message Stand Out

Marketing to specific groups of consumers, or target marketing, is one of the most important concepts in marketing. Regarding the second argument ‘Marketing shapes consumer needs and wants.’ I have to also agree with this statement. There are various criteria that companies use to segment their products and some of them are geographic, demographic, psycho graphic and behavioral.

Just because one marketing theory works for one company or even thousands of companies doesn’t necessarily mean it will work for another company. They also need to distribute their products to the consumer and this means they will need a physical location like a store, or be a wholesaler and have others retail your products for you and also sell your products on the internet.

Some companies do act unethical in their advertising, for example I have seen some ads on the internet especially where companies would advertise a product and make it very appealing to the consumer then at the very bottom is tiny fonts the word ‘restrictions apply’ they would hide the link that takes you to where the restrictions are listed.
