Is Target Marketing Ethical?
A. Marketing merely reflects the needs and wants of customers. On the sales side, client retention refers more to the salesperson’s efforts to use the client relationship to continually check in with the client, attempt to engage them in further discussions about additional products or services they may be interested in, and seek referrals to the client’s friends and family members.
Other tactics that companies use to shape consumers needs and wants is to use celebrities or other famous people to sell their products. Marketers and salespeople work together to determine what consumers need and how to deliver it. Sales and marketing should motivate, inspire and feed one other.
The problem, however, is that many companies, consultants, and marketers do a lot of “theory” and talking, without taking it beyond that. Coach has built a strong brand name for themselves by being unique in their style and service and this is primarily the reason that customers create a high demand for their products.
Marketing channels are also used by companies to reach their consumers. As a result, decisions are often made without the consultation of the marketing strategy, and that means they are not likely to be in alignment with the strategy. Especially for small companies, one thing or another can come up that gets the business owner off track, and unfortunately, when that happens, marketing tends to move to the back burner.
Maslow’s Marketing Filter
Throughout history, chocolate has been marketed differently to different consumer types. Bottom line to this long winded explanation is this: making THE RIGHT TYPE OF CALL THE RIGHT WAY in conjunction with modern technology and other marketing tools can make a huge difference in your business. We as people like consistency and if a marketer provides consistent service in addition to great products and price then we will keep on going back for years.
Back in October 2015 we shared an article called “5 Ways Marketing Departments Help Salespeople Catch Butterflies.” Recently a tenfold article was shared with us, titled “What is the Meaning of Sales & Marketing and Their Advantages?” and, I have to say, it does a pretty awesome job of breaking down the differences, responsibilities, and links between sales and marketing roles.
A good example would be Ben’s Chili Bowl located in Washington DC. It is an eatery that has been in business for decades and the fact that it had kept so many loyal customers is because they have offered consistent service and great food over the years and people who used to go there to eat as kids still go there as adults.
Marketing With A Telephone
Planning for the year ahead is never an easy task. These companies also make their companies seem fun and sometimes quirky to attract children to other products they may offer. This is all part of what a consumer’s expectations on a product are, if these perceived expectations are met time after time then they become a loyal customer to that particular company.
Companies also take advantage of world events or changes in the economy to come out with new products. Unfortunately, most people settle on mostly one phone-based marketing activity – cold calling. I’d like to present to you a way to use Maslow’s needs pyramid so that you can get inside the consumer’s mind and develop an understanding of what’s truly motivating them as they consider purchasing your product or service.
The marketing department creates awareness, builds engagement by creating information that will invite audience members to take action, and targets and tracks engagement by motivating audience members to provide contact information or initiate a free trial or consultation (converting them from a cold prospect to a known lead or potential buyer).
MLM Marketing Plan
No doubt if you are trying to progress on your journey to MLM success and you have been doing some training and some research then you will have discovered the importance of having a good MLM marketing plan in place. This plan is going to be the key to your time management as well as a guide to keep you on track with all of your individual plans and actions. It is so important to partner with a company that can do more than just talking about marketing theory. The word free is usually a powerful catalyst that springs the consumer into buying that particular product or idea even though he or she might not need it. I think other terms also kind of bait people into buying things they don’t need.
That’s why most small businesses turn to marketing experts for assistance, and when they do, their business explodes. Mike Roach, CEO of CGI, was quoted as saying, “Strategy without execution is a hallucination!” If that is true, then marketing theory without strategy and execution is psychosis.
Breaking Down Sales And Marketing
Marketing to specific groups of consumers, or target marketing, is one of the most important concepts in marketing. Your marketing partner needs to be able to come up with a solid strategy and determine which tactics will best fit that strategy for your unique business. If you’re like most small and midsized companies, you and your team may not have the expertise or time to develop an ROI focused marketing and marketing communications strategy, plan or budget.
This has proved to be a very successful tactic for companies in marketing. In the hierarchy of the business food chain, sales and marketing should not be seen as rivals or equals, but counterparts. Service channels are needed to effect transactions with the consumers and these could be banks for credit card purchases and transportation companies such as UPS to deliver the products to homes and businesses.
Finally, distributing a pre-recorded message makes it possible to contact hundreds and thousands of people with just a fraction of the time it would take to make personal calls.
